    Notes
    • James Wilce moved to Monmouth and opened a butchers shop in Monnow Street. Either before he left the Forest or after he married Sally they had 3 children Ann, Thomas and Richard. Richard the yougest died as a baby and soon after his death James died. Both James and Richard are buried in Monmouth. Sally then continued to run the butchers shop and married William Clark, man she employed in the shop. Ann continued to run the butchers shop and later married the lodger. Thomas - who was by now a trained butcher - left on a sailing ship for America with his wife Elizabeth who was the daughter of a greengrocer in Monnow Street.
