Notes |
- In 1926 the family moved to Hill Cottage, Lea, Herefordshire, before moving to 5 High Street Newent in 1927 where Lionel worked for a Saddler, Greenaway, and then on his death a Mr.Tiller, who acquired the business. Mr. Tiller died in 1929, so Lionel was on the dole. Frustration drove him to open a Saddlery business on his own account in about 1935 but times were hard. In 1940 he was appointed Manager of the Royal Hotel, Taps, Ross-on-Wye, where he remained until his death.
Mabel then moved to 7 Old Dixton Gate, Monmouth, where she remained until 18 months before her death. [4]
